HOW TO MAKE PERFECTLY GRILLED STEAK
Even if you can’t cook, you can make a delicious steak. Buy the best quality beef you can afford, then once you get it home, the less fuss the better.

PERFECTLY GRILLED STEAK
Servings: 2
(This is for one large steak (about 16oz) intended for 2 people to share once it’s sliced. Or you could make 2 separate steaks served unsliced.
Ingredients
1 steak of your choice, roughly 1 1/2 inch thickness boneless ribeye, New York strip steak, porterhouse, or filet mignon are a few nice options
Kosher or sea salt and pepper
Olive or canola oil
Optional: a dollop of butter or soft blue cheese, or some chopped parsley and sea salt sprinkled atop a finished steak make a lovely garnish/presentation
Directions
Take steak out of refrigerator and season with salt and pepper. Let sit 30 minutes to an hour at room temperature.
On a high heat, let grill or grill pan get nice and hot. (Meat should sizzle when it touches the pan.)
Lightly oil pan and place steak directly on the surface.
For medium-rare, cook about 5-6 minutes on one side. Then turn steak over and cook for another 5-6 minutes.
Cooking times:
Rare: 8-10 minutes total
Medium Rare: 10-12 minutes total
Medium: 12-14 minutes total
When steak has finished cooking, place on a cutting board and gently tent with foil. Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
